2020 Hemp Farming State Update

Posted by

With the new USDA Interim Final Rule published on Oct. 31st, 2019 some states are opting to continue with the 2014 Pilot Program until the rules can be further assessed and worked out in the program. This is due to a caveat in the 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act (2018 Farm Bill) operating under the old rules. The 2018 Farm Bill extended the Agriculture Act of 2014 (the 2014 Farm Bill) provisions through Oct. 31 2020 so states and tribes that participated in that pilot program can continue doing so until then. This image shows which states departments of agriculture are operating under which program.
